Phil Reid B.Ch.D (Leeds) & Jo Reid RDN

Phil and Jo Reid are the owners of Beechwood Dental Care. Phil is the principal dentist with particular interests in cosmetic treatments, whitening and therapeutic dentistry. Jo looks after the day to day running of the business and ensures clinical governance and compliance.

They have been married for 30 years and have a daughter Freya. They each have over 30 years’ experience in dentistry. In their spare time Phil enjoys running and Jo tolerates the gym! Weekends are spent walking the family cocker spaniels Martha and Gillie!

Stewart Simpkins BDS,(Peninsular)

Stewart graduated from the prestigious Peninsular Dental School in 2013 where he was awarded the prize for Academic Attainment.

After completing his vocational training he moved on to be Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery at Leeds General Infirmary and later became a clinical tutor at Leeds Dental Institute, teaching and training dental students. During this time he also completed both Part 1 & 2 of the MJDF at the Royal College of Surgeons.

In 2016 Stewart decided to focus solely on general dental practice, and has been working exclusively as a private general dentist since.

The experience and knowledge gained from his previous roles allows Stewart to provide care of the highest standards to his patients. His approach is preventative and minimally invasive. As well as providing excellent general dentistry Stewart’s interests are in modern bonded aesthetic fillings, porcelain restorations and Orthodontics. He is currently training in Implantology.

Before becoming a Dentist, Stewart qualified as a physiotherapist and retains a keen interest in keeping fit. He also enjoys travel and watching documentaries on almost anything meaning he is a mine of interesting but mostly useless facts! ‘Stu’ lives locally and works  Thursdays.

Fergus Robertson BDS (Newcastle)

Originally from Edinburgh, Fergus qualified from Newcastle University in 2014 and since then has worked in several dental practices, including a year long stint in Australia! In between going to the beach and meeting kangaroos he was able to thoroughly enjoy his dentistry.

He has a calm and welcoming demeanour which makes him an approachable and friendly member of our team, especially for nervous patients.

Fergus primarily offers all things general dentistry but has recently become qualified in placing dental implants to replace missing teeth, he also has an interest in endodontics and recently completed his PGCert in Endodontics. He is currently undergoing an advanced year long cosmetic and aesthetic restorative course which will enable him to confidently deliver more comprehensive cosmetic treatments.

In his spare time Fergus likes to try out new restaurants  with his wife Laura. He also enjoys supporting his local rugby team the Leeds Rhinos and is currently trying to work his way through all the escape rooms in West Yorkshire!  Fergus works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Georgina Dawson Dental Hygiene/Therapy Diploma, UK

Georgina joined our team in May 2016 and has proved to be a popular and valuable asset, her role is to educate patients about their oral health and to treat any disease present.
Georgina has a true prevention ethos and believes with the right knowledge and tools every patient can achieve healthy teeth and a happy smile. As a dual hygiene therapist she can provide all types of cleaning from routine maintenance to deeper gum treatments helping to resolve gum disease. She is also able to provide routine restorative treatments such as fillings, fissure sealants and extractions of baby teeth.

Georgina welcomed baby Frank in May 2020 who now takes up most of her spare time!

Natasha Bell RDN

Natasha joined Beechwood in June 2013. She qualified from the Leeds Dental Institute in Febuary 2013 gaining both her Diploma in Dental Nursing and her Hospital Certificate in Dental Nursing. She enjoys all aspects of nursing , particularly cosmetic work. Currently ‘Tash’ can be found running the reception desk and ensuring the smooth running of the practice.

Outside of work Natasha loves to travel, in the last few years she has visited New York, Las Vegas, Miami and The Bahamas! Natasha is married to her childhood sweetheart Tom, and they have two beautiful daughters Harper and Thea.

Rebecca Beevers RDN

Rebecca joined us in October 2017 as a trainee Dental Nurse. She completed The NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing in summer 2019. More recently Rebecca qualified in the delivery of facial aesthetics and is able to provide both anti wrinkle and dermal filler injections, her patient care is outstanding.

Outside of work, much of Rebecca’s spare time is spent with her daughter Mia. Any other free time she gets is spent in her production of the most excellent cakes! Rebecca loves baking and we all look forward to sampling her creations. We’ve nicknamed her ‘the Mary Berry of Beechwood’!

Jan Harding RDN

Jan joined us  in September 2018,  and is our Lead Dental Nurse, an  invaluable member of our fabulous team.

Jan has over 20 years of clinical experience and knowledge, and has a keen interest in Orthodontics and ‘Smile make-overs’

She is married to Ian and has daughter Lucy and cat named ‘Kitty’!

In her spare time Jan loves spending time with family and friends and travelling all over Europe in her VW Camper Van.

Emma Western RDN

Emma joined the team in August 2020 as a trainee Dental Nurse and passed all her exams with flying colours qualifying in February 2022! Emma really enjoys assisting in all things restorative dentistry has to offer and in seeing patients transforming their smiles.

In her spare time much of Emma’s time is spent renovating her new home with her partner Adam. She is also a Second Dan Black Belt in Karate and loves teaching her own classes!
